"Things I've been predicting" for $1000 Alex

Um, What is a comeback for crazy-ass John McCain?

Although Mitt will probably still get the nod there's a chance for McCain to catch a wave, mix a metaphor, and steal home. I've been predicting this since the Huckster's big surge, which is largely due, I think, to the fact that the Goopers got NOTHING. Sadly, as "last best hopes" go, Huck's weak. His extremist religious views are scary even to Christian conservatives who've come to view extreme Evangelicals as something of a liability. Worse, as attractive as Huck's personal views may be to the Evangelicals, his attempts to assure voters that he can keep his Jesus and his politics separate will put them off again.

If Huck keeps sliding back toward the oblivion he richly deserves either McCain or Thompson or perhaps even both are back in the ballgame. It's just my opinion but I think the voters who've found themselves attracted to Arkansas Slim are looking for something authentic. Someone completely unlike Mitt or Rudy.

I think McCain, who spent way too much money too quickly, gets most of the fleeing Huckabites by default. And money will follow if there's money left to dole out.

Final prediction: It's Romney by a nose.

UPDATE: DOH! Edition.

On my way out the door to do some Christmas shopping I published this instead of saving it. Sorry, it wasn't at all done then, but it is now. My bad.
