Please Obama, win me

I don't like Hillary Clinton very much but I'm completely agnostic on Obama. And when I look at the state of the economy, and America's standing in the world, I have to confess to taking a bit of comfort in the idea of Bill-- two terms of relative peace & prosperity--Clinton having keys to the White House, and to the bedroom of the actual President (whether he uses them or not).

This isn't a Pro-Hillary (or Bill) post, btw. Just a bit of thinking aloud from someone who is convinced that whoever ascends to the Oval office inherits a disaster that cannot and will not be wiped away so easily: a disaster that's so heavy it may likely crush November's winner, and the party for which he/she stands. That's why the notion of an informally "double headed"-Exec negates many of my serious, and long standing concerns about a Clinton restoration. Even if I'm generally disinclined toward dynasties.

But Obama can steer me and those like me away from casting a loveless vote for experience in these troubled times. Thing is: I want to vote for him. At the moment, however, I can't. Or rather, I can, but only under the likely scenario of playing eenie-meenie-miney-mo in the booth.

Unity is not an issue. And it shouldn't be an issue because it's meaningless at best and possibly antithetical to itself. (Everybody shows up to the kegger happy, but if there's only a six-pack...).

Unity is a condition that can only honestly be obtained by clearly articulating the issues and how they should be handled. "Everybody's doing it" is no reason to hop on any bandwagon. Never has been.

I don't want to hear about unity or how Obama is like JFK: Camelot was never anything more than a dream of something that never happened. I want to be brought into the fold by hearing a detailed discussion of what must be done to change the direction our country is heading in, how it can come about, and how I can help.

Clinton's not going to stop attacking. I hate that, but I'm not going to hold it against her.

As hypocritical as it may sound, Obama has to be better than that. He should counter every attack, not with a counter-attack, or even forgiveness (as he has so generously, and to his good credit) but by rolling out specific policy on key issues.

I need to know EXACTLY what he will do, how and when.

Hill's the Devil I know, and her husband's the Devil I sometimes disagree with, but generally trust with everything but my daughters (well, and maybe deregulation, and trade agreements with Mexico).

People will flame me for saying this--- people who want CHANGE.

But there's no intrinsic virtue in change just as there's no intrinsic virtue in unity. That's not cynical, its obvious.

I want change too. But I need more details---- shouted from the mountaintop/
