Just as Congressman Steve Cohen's long overdue (if entirely symbolic) resolution to apologise for American slavery passes the House another set of anti-Cohen flyers created by Rev. George Brooks of Murfreesboro, TN hits the streets of Memphis.
No matter what you may think of Cohen personally or as a politician Brooks' flyers are revolting examples of the worst humanity has to offer. One of the handouts asks, "Did you know that Jews were involved in the slave trade?"
Why yes Mr. Brooks, I did know that there were some Jews involved in the slave trade. And there were some Africans involved in the slave trade too as well as Europeans of every stripe.
Sick, sick stuff this hatemongering.
